The village of Helvetia, West Virginia, USA is cradled in a tiny valley among the Appalachian Mountains of Randolph County. On October 15, 1869, a group of Swiss immigrants set out to find new land for farming. After traveling over steep hills and through heavy forests, they found an extremely isolated valley that reminded them of their homeland in Switzerland. They called their new home HELVETIA.
